Scott’s mom came in town while Scott’s Dad was in Africa. What a treat to have her! While she was here we went to the Pacific Science Center (Susanna frequently demonstrates the slow moving neck movement that she learned dinosaurs do from the slow moving robotically animated dinosaurs there), we went to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory, we celebrated Chinese New Year with Indian Food, and celebrated Scott’s birthday with Dianne’s homemade (and very excellent) Chinese chicken and cashews and his favorite “22-minute cake” (which I never make him; thank goodness for moms, right?). We had a wonderful time and very much enjoyed her company. Here she’s reading a book to Susanna that she bought her on another trip when we went to the Aquarium. It’s always a party with Dianne!
A family-- a cycling scientist, a crazy little girl, a happy toddler, and me-- navigating the exciting, sometimes difficult, but most of all wonderful adventure that is life.
