A Memorial Day Picnic

We took Susanna to the Washington Park Arboretum for a picnic to celebrate Memorial Day. It was great fun! We met a friendly dog and watched the canoers, ducks, and geese-- and I believe it was her first picnic!

A new home

We are getting settled in our new apartment in Laurel Village. These are photographs of the outside (including Susanna exploring the grass). We are on the second floor; you can see part of our deck in the photograph on top-- it is tucked behind the tree on the left.

I finally caught those pearly whites on camera so you might want to take a look at the previous post "A tooth is born" for an update.

Summer?

The temperature broke 80º today; could it be summer? It's probably just a teaser so we shouldn't get too excited.

A few of her favorite things

Some of Susanna's favorite things: playing ball, looking in the mirror, wrestling on Mom & Dad's bed, swinging on swings, watching animals, and drinking water.

A tooth is born

Susanna cut her first tooth somewhere between Friday evening and Saturday morning (May 11-12). The second came about 24 hours later. It was rough on all of us, but we're happy for her. Susanna was eating blueberries and oatmeal for breakfast at the time of the photograph (5/16/07-- a couple of days later).

Another visit!

May 8-11, 2007
We are moving away from our little apartment by the lake and our managing job. We've loved our ward family and our neighborhood (both of which will be changing) but we are very excited and think this will be a great thing for our family. Amy's sister Sarah sacrificed four days of her last week before moving to Jacob Lake (by the Grand Canyon) for the summer to help us get ready for the move. We are very grateful for all her help.

Susanna loves ducks. I think they are just the right size, move at just the right speed, and quack at just the right volume to be really exciting for her. After two and a half days of work, Sarah, Susanna, and I went in search of ducks at Greenlake. We found some.

Sarah turned 20 while she was here. To celebrate we made a really tall cake.
