Road Trip!

For any of you who feel like we've been MIA, here's why:
We left Salt Lake City on June 28th and drove to Missoula, Montana to visit our good friends the Theurers. We left on July 2nd and drove to Salmon, Idaho for a small vacation for our little family. The next day we drove to Sun Valley for a vacation with my (Amy's) parents. Scott left July 5th taking our car back to Seattle (only to turn around and fly to Tuscon for a conference); Susanna and I stayed until Saturday (July 7th) when we drove to Salt Lake City with my family. Susanna and I flew home to meet Scott in Seattle on Friday July 13th only to turn around and get back in the car a few days later. This time we drove to Couer D'Alene to meet Scott's parents. We got back Monday July 23rd.
Whew.
It was great fun. Details (really just photographs) below.

Fishing the Couer D'Alene River

The Couer D'Alene River is absolutely beautiful and we found a great place to access it. The fish weren't biting a lot, but we had a great time anyway.

Eating lunch on the side of the river.

Scott is the tiny person in this photograph.

Couer D'Alene with the Hales

After regrouping from our trip to Salt Lake City (Amy and Susanna) and Tuscon (Scott), we did a few loads of laundry and packed our bags again to drive east.

I should note that at this, Susanna's third time swimming, there was no sign of timidity.

Salt Lake City

Amy and Susanna drove from Sun Valley to Salt Lake City with Amy's family. I loved seeing Susanna spend some time with friends and family that I love so dearly. Here are a few photographs.

Fishing in Sun Valley

Scott went fishing twice while in Sun Valley; once he took the lovebirds (as we called them) and once me and my dad. All of these photographs below are from the second trip.

I think this was Mike's (my dad's) first time fly-fishing; here he is with his first fish. He also caught the big fish of the day!

Sun Valley with the Andersons

On June 3rd Scott, Susanna, and I arrived in Sun Valley to spend a week there with my family. Included in the group was my brother Eric's fiance Kate (and Eric, of course). They are pictured below Ice Skating at Sun Valley Lodge's rink. It was wonderful to get to meet her-- she is a beautiful person and I am very excited for them.

Susanna went swimming for the first time in Sun Valley. She was timid at first but quite liked it after a few minutes of adjustment.

Peel Tree A-Frame

We rented a forest service cabin in the woods near Salmon, Idaho for a short vacation between Missoula and Sun Valley for our small family. We had a good time.

Missoula: Susanna meets her friend Ella

Some good friends of ours, Matt and Rachel Theurer, had a baby girl a month after we did. So one of the exciting things about our trip to Missoula was seeing Susanna meet her good friend Ella.
